He loves and lives Resilience, inner strength in the face of external pressures. Time and again, life challenged and encouraged his inner resilience: as a hostage in the jungle, he grew beyond himself. His everyday life was characterized by „classic crises“, from burnout to relationship crises.

Today, Marc Wallert says: „I am happy - not despite, but thanks to my life crises“. That's why he talks so openly and humorously about what most people prefer to keep quiet about: The crises. Because they contain opportunities for development. Always. You just have to find them.

Marc Wallert shares expertise with humor

As Manager from the business world he knows the challenges facing companies today. For over 15 years, he led teams and managers through the dynamic business jungle, including at global market leaders such as PwC (consulting), Renault (automotive) and Ottobock (MedTech). He burned, burned out. Today, he passes on what he learned from this - as Keynote Speaker for resilience.

In addition to his business studies (M.Sc., MBA), he draws back on training in the field of Psychology , among other things as University-certified „Resilience Trainer (SHB)“. In 2020, he was named the best „Professional Speaker“ at the Academy of the German Speakers' Association (GSA) and became a TOP100 Excellence Speaker.

Marc Wallert is a recognized expert for resilience and co-author of the TK publication „Resilience“ (2023, Medizinisch Wissenschaftliche Verlagsgesellschaft). At the same time, Marc Wallert has mastered the art of conveying serious topics in a way that is both technically sound and humorous. His contribution „Free the hostage within you“ as co-author of the book „A nicer wait“ by Armin Nagel (2023, Lübbe Life).

The hostage situation of Marc Wallert

As survivor of a kidnapping Marc Wallert learned how to deal with extreme stress and crises. He felt the power of resilience first-hand. Thanks to it, he survived 140 days in the jungle unscathed. Protective factors such as acceptance and optimism have proven to be effective survival strategies.

Today he shares his Jungle strategies in his keynotes. This is because he has realized how valuable his experiences were for him and how valuable they can be for other people. He is not interested in describing his abduction, but in sharing his impressive experiences.

Looking back, he says: „My abduction was a serious experience that I wouldn't wish on anyone, but one that I wouldn't want to miss. Because it changed and enriched my life with valuable experience .“ He feels a special appreciation for his life in peace and freedom after having experienced captivity and guerrilla warfare.

No. That would be crazy! The suffering is already behind me. I survived my abduction well and have grown from it. I really wouldn't wish anyone to have to go through something so terrible. But today I wouldn't want to miss this learning experience - it has enriched my life.
Absolutely, but it's worth it!
Even while writing the book, doubts arose again and again: „Can I publish it so openly?“. Then again the courage „Yes, because there is something valuable in it“. Soul stripping is not an end in itself. But if honesty serves knowledge, then it makes sense.
This is why I am always touched by personal letters from readers, such as „I found myself in your descriptions“ or „Your book came at exactly the right time for me and has changed my life“.
Today, I encourage people to deal (more) openly with their life crises, because they are part of life. Because they are often even the prerequisite for inner growth.
Haha, I used to think that too! „Bestselling authors“ who are also constantly on the radio and television are all set, I thought. Fortunately, personal wealth was not the goal of my publication. Because unless you're a Harry Potter author, you don't get rich either with books or as a talk show guest. Nevertheless, my book and the media have given my message a strong reach. I am very grateful for that. As a Keynote Speaker, the reach helps me because event organizers like to book bestselling authors for their events who are already known to the public from radio and television.
My parents still live in Göttingen and are now proud to be grandparents of six. Like me, they are grateful that we were given a second life. They enjoy it in good health.
Yes and no. As a hostage in the jungle, I survived a life-threatening extreme situation, which is certainly unique in its own way. Emotionally, however, relationship crises and my burn-out threw me off track even more. In the end, I learned something about myself from every life crisis. Without them, I wouldn't be living the fulfilled life I do today.
