You can train resilience like a muscle. Suitable techniques are presented in the course by Marc Wallert. For example, we can specifically strengthen our optimism by focusing on positive images in difficult situations.
At the same time, important foundations are already laid in childhood. Even babies develop a sense of self-efficacy when parents react positively to their crying. Later on, these people are more likely to feel that they can change their situation themselves, actively develop solution strategies and are less likely to fall into the role of victim.
In principle, yes. But it depends on the intention. Companies sometimes book resilience training courses to make their employees more stress-resistant, i.e. more capable of performing and suffering. But this is precisely where the risk lies. After all, employees' symptoms of stress can be an indication of a structural or cultural imbalance in the organization. For example, it may be necessary to work on the company's error culture or leadership culture. In this case, it would be counterproductive to train employees to cope with an imbalance. In the short term, it may make sense to provide acute support in coping with stress. However, an organization will only become truly resilient if it not only copes with stress, but also eliminates its sources.
Resilience is about dealing well WITH stress. Stress is a survival mechanism. It is dangerous to simply „make stress go away“. In the same way, you shouldn't simply „meditate away“ job-related insomnia or „jog away“ relationship stress. This may alleviate the symptoms of stress, but it doesn't eliminate the causes. This often leads to necessary changes being delayed. Dealing with stress well and resiliently also means, above all, using stress symptoms as an indication of upcoming changes and tackling sources of stress in a targeted manner, both privately and professionally.
Due to time constraints, Marc Wallert is unfortunately no longer able to offer seminars. He has summarized the most important elements of Keynote and jungle strategies in his Online course "Strong through stress & crises“ summarized.
